D.C. Cherry Blossom Festival 2015

Washington DC Cherry BlossomsThe Cherry Blossom Festival is finally in full swing in Washington, D.C., and it is beautiful. In 1912, Japan gave the United States the cherry trees in order to strengthen the relationship that was forming between the two nations. To commemorate the gift from Japan and to celebrate the beauty they bring to D.C., the Cherry Blossom Festival is held each spring when the flowers are in full bloom. The Festival brings D.C. to life with amazing art exhibits, cultural events, and an exciting parade. The events and the blossoms come together to create a celebration that people come from around the country to experience.

This year, the National Cherry Blossom Festival Parade is on Saturday, April 11, 2015, from 10 AM until noon. The parade will run on Constitution Avenue, from 7th Street to 17th Street. You can purchase seats in the Grandstand for $20. Or, you can stand along the parade route between 9th and 15th streets for free. The parade is always a spectacle to see, sporting extravagant floats, wonderful performers, and bands from all over the country. Read More “D.C. Cherry Blossom Festival 2015” »

Outdoor Movies Near Our Communities

I love to grab a blanket and some snacks and head outside for a favorite old movie or a new flick that I haven’t seen yet. Pop some popcorn and take a look at the upcoming screenings in the area:
