Take Your Child to Work Day

Polinger Company celebrated National Take Your Child to Work Day on Thursday, April 26, 2018, with an enthusiastic class of participants.

Children from the marketing, accounting, operations, administration, and construction teams were present. After a breakfast of fruit and donuts, lessons were taught by each department to help the children learn each role.

Afua Ofori, Director of Human Resources, conducted a welcome session acclimating the children to the basics of property management and how Polinger Company operates. They viewed a slide show presentation and learned the difference between commercial and residential properties.

Katie Sichinava, Project Accountant and Julia Hoops, Project Accountant taught the importance of budgets and income. As a game, the children were given a monthly stipend and were able to choose how to spend it based on flash cards showing needs and wants. Surprisingly, vegetables were bought in addition to video games.

Kim Cueva, Director of Marketing, showed the importance of a website and the internet. The children then created their own brochures based on what they believed was important to show a prospective renter. There was no shortage of creativity in the room.

The children took a tour of the office and the outside grounds to help burn some energy. “It was a successful and very fun first “Take Your Child to Work Day” here at Polinger and we look forward to doing it again in the future,” said Ms. Cueva.

Award-Winning Communities

Polinger Company is honored to announce several of its properties won the 2017 National Resident Satisfaction Award from SatisFacts and the 2017 ApartmentRatings Top Rated Award. SatisFacts surveys over 3 million residents of rental apartments nationwide and measures the results for property management companies. ApartmentRatings.com is an online resource for renters to view reviews from existing residents.

The sister companies combine to ask residents about their experiences with moving into the apartment and maintenance requests.

The SatisFacts Resident Satisfaction Award is given to properties that achieved a score of 4.0 or higher on their surveys. The ApartmentRatings Top Rated Award recognizes properties with outstanding resident satisfaction as measured by a 70% or greater overall recommended score. Each award has minimum survey return requirements to ensure a proper sampling is achieved.

Bethesda Place Apartments in downtown Bethesda took top honors of all Polinger properties with a 99% recommended score from Apartment Ratings. The following other properties also won both awards: Highland House and Highland House West in Chevy Chase, Brighton Village in Gaithersburg, Congressional Towers and Rollins Park in Rockville, The Arcadian in Silver Spring, Country Place in Burtonsville, and the Swift Petworth in DC.

We thank the teams at our communities for their hard work and dedication for making these awards possible. Congratulations on your success!
