DUTIES: | Polinger Shannon & Luchs Company, one of the premier mid-Atlantic real estate and property management firms, is seeking an experienced, enthusiastic professional to head our Engineering Division. The successful candidate will benchmark operating costs for building mechanical and operating systems; evaluate building performance; participate in the analysis/due diligence of property acquisitions; lead the Company’s green initiative in product and/or new system reviews and building LEED certification; participate in the screening, hiring and supervision of engineering and maintenance employees; provide input /oversight on major mechanical and service contract specification development, bids, contract award and contractor performance; coordinate the purchase of utilities; provide guidance for the mechanical specifications for office tenant build-outs; conduct maintenance and government required (OSHA and similar) training; interact with property maintenance technicians troubleshooting building systems. | REQUIREMENTS: | This senior level position requires a candidate whose credentials include a degree in Mechanical Engineering, experience in both commercial and residential buildings and the appropriate jurisdictional licenses including CFC and boiler/machinery. Candidate should also have a minimum of 10 years experience in a similar environment of which 5 years has been in a supervisory capacity over a number of maintenance engineers. (Substantial experience as a supervisory engineer may be substituted for the degree requirement.)
